We Are Fruges was born out of our shared love of cooking and eating together.
We are three friends who regularly spend our evenings riding the East London Line between our Dalston and Peckham kitchens, to prepare and share dinner. We all find ourselves busy with work and other commitments, but food is always top of the agenda. The routine is usually a vague suggestion of a meal a few days in advance and, as the time draws closer, long and excited email exchanges between the three of us about what we’re going to cook, who will pick up the ingredients, and where from.
These dinners have become central to our social life, but we’re not particularly extravagant with our choices. London is expensive, and in order to do all the things we want to do, we’re on a tight budget. We try to be creative and thoughtful with our ingredients.
The more blogs we look at, the more we see that there is a space for something practical, with approachable advice and tips. It seems to us that something attractive to look at which offers up ways to have a nice time in an accessible way is a very good idea. We think there is space for a blog that considers delicious food and frugality -
We’re planning to add further sections and guest posts soon; watch this space...
